Support Gun Safety - Support the Saving Our Veterans Lives Act of 2025

Every day, veterans are dying by suicide—and most often, a firearm is the method used. We know from decades of research that suicide is often impulsive, and that even small barriers to immediate access, like safe storage, saves lives. When that moment passes, the crisis often does too.

The Saving Our Veterans Lives Act of 2025 is a bipartisan, bicameral effort to standardize and expand what the VA is already doing: giving veterans the tools, education, and resources to safely store firearms and create critical moments of pause between crisis and action. It’s a practical, evidence-based step toward prevention and it meets veterans where they are.

The urgency couldn’t be clearer. Even the latest VA report released in February 2026 shows that veteran suicide rates continue to rise. We cannot accept that as the status quo. This is about doing everything within our power to protect and save the lives of our veterans. Congress must act.
